While yes, they do have a license to practice medicine, the real providers are those that are at the bedside for 8,10, and 12 hours and beyond. I'm talking to those RNs, IVNs, CNAs, PTs, RTs, OTs, pharmacists, heck, if there wasn't a housekeeper or environmental services, we wouldn't have a clean bed or room for a patient to stay. It's these bedside providers that I'm speaking to right now.
